Description Back

This one-acre park meets the needs of one of Richardson’s first neighborhoods (Richardson Heights), an area once identified as lacking in park land and public greenspace. The contemporary design reflects the neighborhood’s original fabric, using former driveways and sidewalks to create points of arrival and circulation through the site. The park honors the former residents that once called the site home, reusing salvaged bricks to construct a pavilion. A locating program preserves significant legacy trees to be enjoyed for generations to come. The shaded gathering space, butterfly garden, playground, and casual open play lawn create a park that has become the social centerpiece of this neighborhood, hosting block parties, movies on the lawn, and food truck events in additional daily use by residents. The project received an Honorable Mention from the GDPC (Greater Dallas Planning Commission Awards).

  • The City of Richardson expresses great appreciation for a job well done. The results exceeded expectations and the citizens are extremely happy with the park as it is in constant use. It was truly a pleasure to work with Cooper General Contractors.
